    <summary type="html">When I was in Christchurch there were surfers at every beach, even on the grey wet days. Very hard core. All ages and all skill ranges.&#xD;
And this was in the throws of Autumn. &#xD;

I was told that in summer it completely booms there.</summary>

As to sharks pfffttttt....Oz is where you need to worry...we dont have many attacks at all...</summary>

    <summary type="html">So the word on the streets is that the surf in NZ is amazing. A friend told me to pick up the "Drive Thru New Zealand" DVD, which I will, but the major issue addressed by this post is to see if there are many surfers in this group and if so, how is the surfing lifestyle in NZ? Are there any "surf communities" or "surf cities?" &#xD;
&#xD;
Also, what do you make of the statement that I often receive "Oh, theres a ton of sharks down there too man."</summary>
