I wonder if we aren't just being a little precious about culture. I was listening to a podcast of a NY cafe where a guy was playing a didgeredoo. He was not an Aboriginal. Should we say that the only people that are allowed to perform a poi dance or a Maori action song are Maori, or should we be pleased that people are interested in our cultures.

perhaps the professional football club (that is "sponsored" by Ford) should stop using the Haka as well.... the All Blacks are after all just another business now...?
...or is it different if is a business with a history of sport that is allowed to use the Maori Haka to make a dollar...?

I think it's good that it was done... after all, there is never an outcry if some parody takes the piss out somewhere else in the world when advertising here. Some nz companies even claim to be the authentic foreign thing.... still no outcry....
