Where did you holiday as a child?That is if you did...
We lived in Ohau ,but Dad had a low key house up in Russell...We would be left to our own devices for weeks,and boy did we roam and have so many adventures...fantasy island...never saw ourselves as rich moneywise but upon reflection we were rich from those journeys up there...
If only Dad had'nt sold the house many moons ago we would now have a house worth at least a mill...dammit...;0)
We went out in dinghies and went fishing off rocks and cleaned up in fishing comps,and watched big game fish being opened and smoked..explored little tropical islands laden with fruits.....so many good memories there which sure made up for the rest of the time...

........Nelson and Stewart island .............................
they always started when it was still dark outside ....catchin the most beautifull sun rises ........
and often rough sea crossings across the straight .............
loads of Campin ...hikin .... swimmin ......fishin and sailin ...................
as a family i only remember 1 north island excurtion ....... but we did tour it from thy ferry to top and back down again
very strong memories of gettin the landcruiser stuck on 90 mile beach...... a light house and the smell of Rotorua ............
my holidays now consist of .............
me commin from Nelson BC CANADA ..........
drivin ...usually startin before dawn...
9 hours to Vancouver then gettin on a plane n flyin round the world .....
gettin back to CHCH basin myself there then @ some stage of my stay headin to Nelson and Stewart island .....
Next year id like to head up NORTH .....
do some festivals .........
any ideas ?????
