      I'm going to my three year old's Matariki celebration at Steiner Nursery school.

      All the little children wear white. They carry a candle (made at the Kindergarten) around a spiral made of greenery and light it from a big candle at the center. The room gets lighter and lighter. After they get a star cookie and something else - I forgot - anyway it sounds cute. I decided to go to this one - I usually let Dad do the preschool stuff - and let it be my celebration too.

    Of course it would be winter there now - when I was there, it was February and so of course it was the height of summer. (-;
